If you are serious about Kite Surfing, go to a school that will teach you the basics, one place I can recommend if you have the time, that is Hood River, Oregon, the windsurfing capital of the world, they may have the stuff you are looking for.
never tried kite surfing, but windsurfing is Im 13, and I successfully tacked (if u dont know, when you turn ur board through the wind) with in 3 days of starting. I love it, and want to make it a life time sport. Ever tried sailing? even better!!!! ...
surfing gives you a sense of freedom. windsurfing kindof restricts you. you can however get more speed out of windsurfing.... I just don't think you are as connected with the water......
